PLEASE NOTE
Lighthouse 2012 is not yet open for registration.  General registration will open in June.  Registration of helpers' children will open in March at the same time as helper registration.

Child Registration

Marlow Lighthouse is taking place at Holy Trinity School. It plans to give around 300 children aged 5 to 11 an exciting week of fun, games and lively worship in 2012. For your child to be part of Lighthouse, you will need to complete and submit the application form online. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis – the only preference being given to children of helpers. If you are helping at Marlow Lighthouse please register your children before June.

The Lighthouse day starts at 10.30am; children should arrive between 10 and 10.15am. They will be in a group of about 10 children of the same age – those aged 5 to 9 will be looked after by an adult Lighthouse Keeper, helped by two teenage Lamplighters and will take part in a series of different activities each day. The activities will include games, craft, drama and Christian teaching on the theme of Heroes. Ten and eleven year olds will have a different, less rigid, programme.

If your child is allocated a place at Lighthouse, you will receive a confirmation of this and additional information; however the following information may be useful.

Parents or another adult will need to bring the children to the registration point. This may not be at the front of the site but will be clearly indicated. Although there is some parking for cars this is very limited and we strongly recommend you bringing children on foot. At 3pm the adult who is collecting may go to the marked area outside the main marquee to listen to the final 'Mainstage' session and collect their children at 3.30pm.

There will be Lighthouse tee-shirts available to buy at a cost of £5 for children attending Lighthouse if they wish to have one. Wearing of a Lighthouse tee-shirt is not compulsory, but please ensure that your child is suitably dressed.

For each day your child will need to bring:
  • Clothes and shoes which will be suitable for craft making and sports activities. If appropriate please also ensure that he/she has warm clothing and a waterproof jacket. All clothing and footwear should be clearly labelled with the child’s name.
  • Sun cream and a hat. Sun cream should be applied before arrival at Lighthouse
  • A packed lunch, in a named lunch box. Other snacks should not be brought unless there is a medical need for food to be eaten more frequently.
  • A named water bottle, this can be refilled on site

Lighthouse is run solely by volunteers, however it still costs about £10 per day per child to run Lighthouse, donations are voluntary but are welcomed. Lighthouse is a registered charity and a gift aid envelope will be included with your confirmation letter to enable us to reclaim tax on donations. There will be a box for donations at the registration desk each morning.

If we do not collect sufficient donations we may not be able to continue running Lighthouse.

If you are a helper with children to register, please complete the child registration immediately after registering as a helper.  If you have any questions or problems, contact Sarah at sarah.j.jones@gmail.com or use the Contact Us page. Children of helpers must be registered (for the crèche or for a Lighthouse group). Please complete a registration form for your children at the same time as you register yourself as a helper.
